The Effectiveness of Corneal Modification

The immediate effects of corneal modification procedures vary by patient. Some patients no longer need to wear eyeglasses while others require eyeglasses or contact lenses of a lesser strength. Long term effects are still being studied and are unknown at this point; however, all prospective patients should be aware that prescription lenses may eventually be needed for presbyopia (a common vision condition that develops as the eye ages). To make a wise choice, discuss your options thoroughly with your doctor of optometry.
